Description

The mission of America's Junior Miss is to emphasize education by providing scholarship opportunities to outstanding, college-bound high school girls, and to encourage personal development in all young people. Participants in the program begin at the local levels of competition and compete in 5 categories: scholastics, interview, fitness, talent and self-expression. Scholarships are awarded at all levels of competition and increase in value at each level. Those who advance to the state level have an opportunity to advance to the national program, which is held in June each year in Mobile, Alabama.

Since 1958, AJM has awarded more than $90 million in cash scholarships. Local and state scholarship awards varied.
