Description |
Scholarship specifically geared toward individuals who have already
gained experience and/or training in the travel industry.
Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of full-time travel industry
experience or an undergraduate degree in travel/tourism and must
currently be employed in the travel industry (travel agency, tour
operator, hotel, airline, car rental, etc.) The candidate must be
enrolled in a minimum of two courses per semester in an accredited
undergraduate or graduate level degree program in business, or
equivalent degree program.
The AVIS Scholarship offers one award of $2,000 and would be renewable
for up to three years, providing the candidate maintained a superior
grade point average (proof of GPA required).
Applicants must submit the following, in addition to the General
Requirements:
-proof of current employment in the travel industry
-transcripts from last academic term with proof of a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0
scale OR if the applicant is returning to school after time spent in the
workforce, submit undergraduate transcript showing a GPA of 3.0 on 4.0
scale
-brief essay (500-750 words) explaining how the degree program relates
to applicant's future career in the travel industry |
