Scholarship Description
 

Whatever your passion Chevy wants to help you pursue it. So, we’re offering some outstanding students two opportunities at $1,000 scholarships towards their first year of college expenses. You could be eligible for the Excellence in Music Award or the Excellence in Education Scholarship.

Complete and return the business reply card on pages 102–3 in the College Guide pdf and we’ll send you an application for the Chevy Excellence in Education Scholarship.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE ELIGIBLE
- African-American students in their senior year with sufficient credits to graduate in spring 2007
- Cumulative 3.3 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for education scholarship
- Demonstrate both academic excellence as well as outstanding community service through activities, volunteering and work experiences
- U.S. citizenship or eligibility to permanently work in the U.S.
- Intention to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year college or university during the fall term of 2007

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Official high school transcript including your most recent course work
- Letter of recommendation from an appropriate high school teacher or administrator
- Letter of recommendation from a music teacher (either through school or through a private instructor/coach) if applying for the music award
- Typed personal statement of 500–700 words (See “Application Instructions”)
- Complete and signed application form (photocopies are acceptable)

HOW AND WHEN TO APPLY
Complete and return the business reply card on pages 102–3 in the College Guide pdf and we’ll send you an application for the Chevy Excellence in Education Scholarship.
Submission deadline for application requests is March 16.
Completed scholarship application must be postmarked by April 16
