The Dolphin Scholarship is open to children/stepchildren of members or
former members of the Submarine Force who served for at least eight years.
You are also eligible if your parent/stepparent served the Navy in
submarine support activities for a minimum of 10 years. Qualifying time
must have been served on active duty. There is no minimum period of
service for children of personnel who died on active duty while in the
Submarine Force. To be considered for this award, you must be unmarried,
under the age of 24 at the time of application and be enrolled or planning
to enroll at an accredited, four-year college or university. Your
application will be evaluated on the basis of your scholastic proficiency,
non-scholastic activities, character, all-around ability and financial
need. The award is renewable provided certain criteria are maintained.
