Description:
The Federation Executive Recruitment & Education Program (FEREP)
Scholarship is available to full-time graduate students attending any
accredited university in the United States or Canada. In order to be
eligible, you must pursue a masters degree in non-clinical social
work, public administration or nonprofit management combined with
graduate-level Jewish studies.
The program awards up to $40,000 for specified areas of graduate study
in return for a minimum two-year paid work commitment in a North
American Jewish federation following graduate school. FEREP also
provides supplemental professional and cohort development
opportunities, and assists students with the placement process leading
to their first federation position. There are three ways in which you
can fulfill the Jewish study requirement: pursue a joint degree, where
one of the above professional degrees is combined with a masters in
Jewish Studies or Jewish Communal Service; pursue a professional
degree and a Certificate in Jewish Studies or Jewish Communal Service;
design a Jewish study plan of your own that meets the requirement for
relevant, graduate-level study. In addition, you must have been
awarded a bachelors degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA and maintain a
minimum 3.0 graduate GPA.
