Description |
The John F. & Anna Lee Stacey Scholarship Fund is for students who would
make art their proffession.
This award is intended for serious-minded students of conservative art-
namely, painting and drawing.
The scholarship is open to United States citizens only, both men and
women, single or married, irrespective of race, creed or color.
Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old. Appointments will
normall be for one year and the amount available for distribution will
be approximately $5,000.
PROCEDURE:
Submit 35mm slides of your work in any of the following categories
listed below:
-Painting from life
-Drawing from the figure (nude)
-Composition
-Landscape
-Any other slides of your work which you think advisable
NOTE: It is very important that the slides of paintings reproduce
correctly the tonal values.
Enclose a letter outlining your ambitions and explaining your plans and
objectives. Disclose how and where you wish to study or work. Include
letters of reference- at least four from a variety of sources.
Personal data and 35mm slides of each winner will be kept for the
permanent files of the Stacey Scholarship Fund. The Committee will
endeavor to gain useful publicity for its winners.
