The Pennsylvania State Grant is open to eligible Pennsylvania
residents who are able to sufficiently demonstrate financial
need. To be considered for the award, you must be enrolled at
least half-time in a Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance
Agency (PHEAA) approved undergraduate program of study and have
a high school diploma (or a GED). Though you do not necessarily
have to be attending a school in Pennsylvania, your chances of
receiving more aid are significantly higher if you attend an
institution within the state. Students attending postsecondary
schools in Maryland, New Jersey or New York are not eligible.
To apply, you must submit the FAFSA. Deadlines for these awards
vary. Some students must apply by May 1, while others must apply
by August 1 to be eligible. Students are encouraged to apply
even if the deadlines have passed, as you may qualify for an
award if funds permit. Please visit the sponsor's Web site for
more information.
