Scholarship Description
The Posse Foundation assists schools in identifying and recruiting
exceptional groups of diverse students. Winners of the Posse
scholarship will be afforded full tuition for four years to one of the
Posse Foundation's 28 partner universities. Students who are chosen to
participate in the Posse Program will undergo an eight-month workshop
during which they will meet for two hours per week to prepare for the
rigors of top-tier colleges. With the program's help, they will be
able to hone their cross-cultural communication, leadership and
academic skills. The Posse Program has workshop sites in six major
cities across the United States inlcluding Boston, Chicago, Los
Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta.

Students interested in applying will need to either nominate
themselves, or be nominated by a counselor, a community foundation or
a Posse alumnus.
Nominated students will undergo a three-step election process. During
the first step, the foundation will place them in situations that
highlight their public speaking, listening, negotiation and
communication skills. Those selected to move on to the next step will
be invited back for an interview. In the final recruitment stage,
applicants will undergo a finalist workshop where Posse staff and
university representatives select the university posse winners for
that year.
