Description:
The Brower Youth Award is an annual national award that recognizes
6 young people for their outstanding activism and achievements in the
fields of environmental and social justice advocacy. The winners of
the award receive $3000 in cash, a trip to California for the award
ceremony and Yosemite camping trip, and ongoing access to resources
and opportunities to further their work at Earth Island Institute.
Who is eligible:
Young activist leaders ages 13 to 22 as of July 1, of the award year.
Where:
For those living in the North America.
Why:
Earth Island Institute established the Brower Youth Award to honor
founder and legendary activist David R. Brower. This award manifests
the Earth Island Institute commitment to growing new leaders and the
inextricable link of our physical surroundings and the human
condition.
